Defining BEAUTY

Loc Art was founded on the science of creating beauty artistry and properly maintaining the structure of a person’s Locs. No two people have exactly the same hair texture, pattern, or number of hair follicles, therefore we can’t expect our locs to look like someone else’s. The beauty of being different is if we all looked the same, we would all be clones of one another! Therein lies the true essence of beauty—diversity.

At Loc Art, we teach our clients about Loc Science, an understanding of one’s natural hair pattern, follicles and texture(s), created by Me Moonlight “The Loc Whisperer”. She focuses on how to embrace one’s hair uniqueness by celebrating the perfect imperfections that make us one-of-a-kind.

Our Roots & Founder

Our founder, MeMoonlight “The Loc Whisperer”, started maintaining locs in 2008. By 2011, Loc Art, the brand designed to celebrate lifestyle, beauty, and proper maintenance of locs was born. Loc Art symbolizes beauty, like a butterfly. Like butterflies, we believe beauty comes in many different forms – each of us unique, but equally beautiful.

When Loc Art was formed, the loc industry was in its infancy. After researching different loc techniques, we discovered most of the information out there was fragmented. Throughout the years, most loc artists have developed their method of creating locs without the proper research and structure required to maintain healthy locs. Motivated by what was learned, we used our love for knowledge and passion for answering a need to present the Absolute Truth About Locs – “Loc Science“.
